The time is at year 2025, even thought to me this story feels like a long time ago (at least last year’s story, technically it is if we are counting Lunar New Year), but looking at previous record, surprisingly it’s still this year’s story.

I. Start of the Story

Back to the story, so the date was close to the end of January. We’ve got a special order from our long-term partner “Quick Quote Promotion” that they needed a batch of Jackets made right before the Lunar New Year. For those of you don’t know or not aware, Chinese Lunar New Year or Spring Festival is like Christmas to most Americans. We were thinking the year has finally come to an end and we were kind of just slacking off and just making sure everything was on track when the year finish. So, the order to us was unexpected time wise, most factories even went on vacation one month before the Spring Festival, so you can imagine how hard it is to even find a factory that willing to make the jacket for our partner, not to mention that we need a logo customized on the jacket as well! This also led us to the second reason why this is rather unexpected for us. What logo do you think we need to put on these jackets?

2. First Unexpected Encounter

The answer is: the order is coming from the world-renowned company, Microsoft.

Here’s the screenshot when we receive the order email from Microsoft and soon after this, we begun to search for factories that’s willing to do at time right before the Chinese Spring Festival. If I recall correctly, after 2-3 days of tireless searching and confirming with factories, we were finally able to lock in a factory to make the production. We’ve calculated everything and negotiated with the factory to make sure our client is getting the best discount they can get. However, when we received the finished product from the factory, something unexpected happened again.

3. Turning Table

It turns out the factory’s logo sewing was not so ideal in our eyes. We were thinking this is an order for the big company and we had to make sure every detail is at its perfection. We cannot stand a logo has oversewed stiches or lack of attention to the detail. Therefore, right after we’ve received the product at our Yiwu warehouse, our staff took several jackets out of the batch as samples and literately went outside to look for available sewing factory or even just a tailor to help us with the order. After 1 days searching without any luck, just at the moment when we felt like we are going to be doomed, out staff Lily has decided to take this out of our own hands. She literately helped with all the cutting and sewing on the logo herself! This happened because there was really no one in Yiwu anymore and it was very close to the Spring Festival so nobody works anymore, Kudos again to Lily for the effort and making everything work!
